CREATING STORIES OF HOPE
Through papercraft and interactive storytelling, we celebrate the awe-inspiring migration of barn swallows and swifts between the UK and Africa.
Our workshops
We invite participants to craft intricate paper insects and birds, before experiencing their creations come alive through the voices of storytellers, who weave together African and Celtic folklore with story and song.
Wild Wings of Hope workshops are safe, creative spaces where nature connection and imagination can take flight.
Ed, Chief Gift Amu, and Cara Silversmith are currently crowdfunding to deliver outreach workshops with schools, palliative care communities, and dementia-friendly groups—in their mission to bring stories of hope and connection to the people and places that need them most.
Wild Wings of Hope is a celebration of art, folklore, ecology, and community—a call to appreciate nature (which knows no borders) and nurture hope, honouring the invisible threads that connect species, cultures, and skies.
In a world of uncertainty, there has never been a more urgent time to share an artistic statement like this.

Wild Wings of Hope: taking flight at the museum
Launching at the Grand Gallery of the national Museum of Scotland, as part of Black History Month and the International Storytelling Festival 2025.

African Sounds & Stories
In African culture, music and storytelling are timeless, healing arts. Together with palliative care patients, we shaped songs and crafted barn swallows inspired by migration—music as both memory and ritual, guiding them through some of the hardest times they may face.
